Good Morning, Its been a while. We are down to the last three weeks of school, its been an incredibly stressful year and it looks as if its going to continue along that path until the end. Hopefully, next year will be better!
So what's changed, not much:-
- I am still dieting and weigh maybe half a stone lighter than I did last year
- My dad is still with us (Huge yay and celebrations go with this) albeit poorly
- The kids are older but the same (love them so much)
- I am still trying to save money (things seem to be getting harder and harder here)
- I have started to do competitions and up to this month have done ok
- I am still fighting the losing battle of trying to have a clean, organised home (yeah I can hear the laughter)
Ok so as far as the competitions go I started a couple of months ago and I have won walking boots, a topiary ball for the garden, drinks, Manuka Honey, a Superdry bag for my daughter for senior school, a £35 stationary set, cycling shorts. But sadly in June I have won nada! Not a thing. But its still a nice hobby to have and it saves me from watching mindless tele in the evenings.
Money saving - I have found sites like checkoutsmart and Shopimum that offer deals and then give you fastback on your purchases by uploading your receipts. I currently have £35.00 on one account and £18.00 on the other account. I am going to continue to save this for our Christmas food shop. Its worth it people, give it a go.
I am trying to eat healthier more natural foods rather than diet so I tend to eat Natural bars for breakfast if I'm on the run or Kallo puffed Rice and Rice milk if its a chilled morning. I eat salads and a sugar free jelly for lunch and then a dinner but I add salad to fill me up. I also snack on fruit.
Eating this way has made me feel fitter and healthier.
As far as the house is concerned I have started to try and get up earlier in the morning, roughly about 5am, to get the house tidied and the lunches done before I leave. Its tiring but does make life easier in the evenings. My plan for the summer holidays is to treat it as if I'm moving and box up everything fully clean and scrub and then put back the things we want or sell/tip the things we don't want. Wish me luck!
Well that's about it for my 'Hello' post, lets talk soon xx
How lovely to see a post from you! Sounds like you've been busy, but glad things are well with you. You've some very ambitious plans for the summer! Good luck with that! Looking forward to reading more posts from you. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteHi Bless,
DeleteIts lovely to talk to you again. How are you doing? I hope you are well health wise. Ha ha, you know me I have to have ambitious plans or I get bored. Xxx
Welcome back Tara! I can't believe you guys still have 3 weeks of school!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad for you that your dad is still with you, I was thinking that perhaps that was the reason why you had disappeared.
So proud of your efforts in the health department! You're taking care of yourself first and I know that was hard for you to do so huge kudos!
Are "competitions" what we call "contests" over here? Or sweepstakes? Or do you actually compete in an event to win those prizes? That's awesome that you won so much!
I so completely understand what a time suck blogging is. Blog as often you'd like - or not. Sometimes you want to share stuff, and sometimes you just want to get through the day. I'm always thinking I should blog less often, so then I disappear for a little bit, and then I come back. I love the blogging community, so much support. But it's true that sometimes it's demanding and my time might be better used doing something else :)
"Talk" to you soon!
Hey Nathalie,
DeleteIts so good to be back I didn't realise how much I had missed until I saw yours and Blesses messages and I nearly jumped up and down for joy.
Its still hard taking care of me first but I'm learning and I feel better for it. I also have started to tell people that I think treat me or the kids unfairly, how I feel instead of just accepting it.
Competitions are probably contests, its normally where they are you a question and you answer it and get put into a hat if your right and the winner is drawn. I'm so pleased with what I have won so far. It can be time consuming but I just do what I have time for.
Ha ha I remember you saying to me last year that you couldn't believe that we still had a few weeks left the at school. (God its good to have these conversations again)I will be so glad to finish, wow this year has been so dire. I find out tomorrow night who I am working with next year. I'm really nervous!
I still need to catch up on your blog. I'm going to put aside a night and just read. Yay.
Talk soon xxx
Sorry to take so long to respond Tara. I have been so incredibly busy lately. Blogging does take so much time and I don't really have the time to give. But like you, I do love the blogging community. And then there is the original reason for starting my blog, and that was to keep all my friends and family informed with the latest news going on in my life. It also has helped me to stay frugal and on the right path financially, which I need now more than ever. Glad you are back. I've missed you.
ReplyDeleteHey Susan, its lovely to talk to you. I'm so glad to be back and catching up with you all. I hope all is ok with you. I completely get where your coming from with money things are getting really tight in the UK with prices rising dramatically. Is it the same with you? Xx
