Wednesday, Really?

Hello, I hope you are all well. I'm just wondering is it just me or is it beginning to feel like groundhog day for everyone? I felt like a five day week was eight days last week and it feels like it should at least be Thursday if not Friday this week. I know I really shouldn't be wishing time away and I don't understand why it feels like its going so slowly.

Things are a little bit stressful in my house this evening, my eldest two boys don't normally argue but this evening they are bickering. One has exams all week and the other has two weeks left at University and has three essays to write. It seems like they are both a little bit stressed out.  I don't like seeing my boys under pressure.

I worked all day today and then my daughter had a friend round for tea, so I have had a no spend day. Yay! I know tomorrow I will have to buy some butter as I forgot to buy some when I did the shopping on Tuesday.

Tonight I read stories with my two youngest boys and we had lots of fun and laughs as they both got the giggles and listening to them laughing made me laugh. They truly are the sweetest boys ever and I feel so lucky to have them.
We have a nice long weekend coming up and I am really looking forward to taking the children to the park (if the weathers nice). Maybe have a picnic, play games and just generally enjoy my time with my favourite people.

I have already had my evening bath and used a nice refreshing cucumber face mask so I think i'll be heading off to bed to read my book in a minute.

Have a lovely evening and take care xx

Swimming in the hail, ooh that could be a new song

Ok guys I do understand that I am becoming a weather bore, but seriously people we are four days away from being in May and today we had a mixture of rain, snow and hail. In fact the lovely sweet children in my class had swimming today! Don't get me wrong they found it hilarious that it was hailing whilst they swam but not really expected. I realise Global Warming is effecting our weather patterns but where the heck is the warming part of it...

My thirteen year old has exams at the moment and after being asked how he got on in his maths exam today he pulled a face and said "Mum, What is a box graph". I had never heard of it and had to look it up, the boy is year 9 and I helped Liam with his maths GCSE revision and never came up with this graph. I am a touch concerned that I will have to go over the complete GCSE syllabus before I can help my thirteen year old revise.

Have you ever seen one of these before?

Today, I went to Aldi to do a small shop to last us the week but £65.00 and three huge bags of shopping later I left the shop. Am I a spend thrift?
I am hoping that this shop will also last part of the way through next week too as I have gone over budget by £25.00 arghhh!
I did buy:-
  • 12 chicken breasts, 24 Sausages, 1kg of Minced beef, Fresh Chicken Nuggets,  Minted lamb kebabs.
  • 8 Jacket potatoes, lettuce, cucumber, mini plum tomatoes, large tomatoes, beetroot
  • Pineapple, 2 packs of strawberries, 2 packs grapes, 2 plums
  • Lots of cheese, Bavarian cheese, brie, cheddar, cottage cheese with pineapple, cream cheese, cranberry Gloucestershire cheese
  • Sandwich chicken and a couple of lunch pies for ben
  • Three different types of crackers
  • 24 Egg waffles, 24 croissants, 6 muffins
  • 2x curry sauces, 2 x tomato sauces, peanut butter and lemon curd and tinned tomatoes
  • Fruit and nut snack bags, fruit wonders (snacks for school)
  • Milk
  • Cloths for washing up
I guess I got a fair amount for the money.

Well, its been lovely talking to you but I need to go and pick Liam up from work so have a lovely evening and take care xx

Menu Plan Monday

Hello lovely people. Ok after last weeks moan I am not going to bore you again but just look at the picture and guess what happened to us today...

Yesterday I told you my darling thirteen year old had injured his leg by falling down a rabbit hole, well this morning he was unable to walk very well at all and had PE today so I amused myself by writing to his PE teacher and telling him that he was unable to do PE today because he thought he was Alice in Wonderland and fell down a rabbit hole.  I am lucky my son is fairly good humoured as he was called Alice all day which did amuse me immensely.

I went to the shops this evening as I really need to do a proper shop but as I forgot my bank card and I went to our local ASDA instead of Aldi it was a fairly small shop rather than a weekly shop.  Luckily I did get bargains and I used a voucher. Yippee!

I spent £30.00 out of my £80.00 weekly shop, I only photographed the bargains, so I have £50.00 left for the week. I have also put £40.00 on two of my children's school dinner accounts for the month. They haven't been having school dinners recently but my eight year old eats hot food much better than a packed lunch and my daughter has so many after school clubs that she is often rushing her food.
My seven year old and thirteen year old will remain having packed lunch every day as the seven year old does not eat potatoes or rice and the teachers request he tries it, he has a problem with the texture it makes him gag so he would rather packed lunches. My thirteen year old gets irritated by the long queues in the dinner hall so would rather a packed lunch. There are days that my eight year old and daughter will take packed lunch depending on if the like the meal. Fish Friday is a definate no no for my daughter.

This weeks menu consists of :-

Monday - Burgers and chips

Tuesday - Chicken curry and rice

Wednesday- Taco's and nachos

Thursday - Lancashire hotpot

Friday - Pizza and garlic bread

Saturday - paninis and salad

Sunday - Roast beef, Toast potatoes, yorkshire pudding and veg.

Its four weeks today until Liam goes to New York and Connecticut, I think he is starting to get excited but he still has two weeks of hard work ahead of him. He does seem to be quite organised with his Essay writing this time round and hopefully he won't have a rush at the end.

I hope you have a lovely evening.

Take care xx

Sunday 24 April 2016

Sunny Sunday ha ha who am i kidding!

Hello dear friends,

It has been a busy day. I woke this morning knowing that I had quite a busy day ahead of me.

My son left for his Duke of Edinburgh exhibition yesterday morning and I went to pick him and his friend up at lunchtime but I stopped in on my mum and dad as they live on the way to where I had to collect the boys.

My mum had a floor steamer for me that she had been given by a friend moving into a residential home and my dad had been to a farm shop and got me two dozen apples. It was lovely to have a chat and a coffee with them.

I then went to pick up the boys who had walked 16K and slept in the woods. They were so tired and achy that they fell straight to sleep on the journey home.

When I woke this morning there was a glimmer of sun and as I knew I would have a lot of washing to do I was hoping it would continue to shine, however as expected it began to rain. It really wasn't a surprise we have had no sun for weeks.

I arrived home to hungry children and spent the afternoon:-

  • Making lunch
  • Washing very dirty washing
  • Shopping for lunch stuff
  • Making Spaghetti Carbonara
  • Packing lunches for tomorrow
  • Hovering
  • Steaming the floor with my new to me steamer
  • Bathing the children
  • Reading the children stories
My brother and his wife have gone to the Maldives today, they have one of the huts pictured above, and whilst I'm sure they will have a fabulous time I'm not sure it would be a holiday for me as I struggle to sit still for any length of time and I'm sure I would enjoy day one and maybe even day two by day three I would be starting to get a bit antsy.
I hope they have an amazing time and get to relax and enjoy each others company as they both work very hard.

Have a lovely evening and take care xx

Wednesday 20 April 2016

Really, is it only tuesday? oops Wednesday?

Just so you know this post was meant for yesterday but I didn't get chance to finish it so its going out today with updates at the bottom.

Good Evening, I hope you are having a great day. For me this week is going so incredibly slowly, I said to my eight year old this evening that I kept thinking today was Wednesday and he replied "Only Wednesday mum, I thought it was Thursday".
So I guess its not just me that is being affected by this time slow down.

As most of you know I am a big Disney fan, so I thought I would let you know that if you are planning a Florida trip in 2017 Disney are offering the Free Dining Plan on any booking made from 21.04.17.

I was at work for half the day today and then I came home hung some washing out, did some ironing, hovered downstairs.
I walked back up to the school to pick the lovely little people up, we had to hang around as my daughter had choir, we then quickly walked home as my daughter had brownies forty five minutes later and she had to have her dinner before she left, luckily dinner was ready in the slow cooker.

I still need to make the sandwiches for tomorrow's lunches, I have been so good at packing these the night before and I know if I don't do it we will be rushing in the morning which I really don't want to do especially as I am at work all day tomorrow and Thursday.

I apologise for this not going out yesterday as it should have done. But I did get the lunches done last night and I have done tomorrows lunches tonight so I am not slacking yet!

I must admit I didn't get any housework done today because I was at work all day and I had to cook dinner, pick my daughter up from a friends and buy some lunch stuff for tomorrow and Friday.

Bargains bought:-

2 x cucumbers 12p each was 54p
3 loafs of bread 18p each was 95p
4 Chelsea Buns 36p was £1.20
2 Cinnamon Buns 36p was £1.20
Chocolate and raspberry cake £1.56 cut into 16 pieces was £15.00
Ariel washing liquid £3.50 was £6.00
Grapes £1.50 was £2.50
Crisps £2.00 was £3.00

I was really pleased with the deals that I got this evening apart from the washing powder they will all be used for the lunches for the rest of this week and next week.

We found out today that my daughter did not get through to the final 50 of the writing competition, she was quite sad but I explained to her that she achieved a lot to just get through to the second round considering just how many applicants there were. She is nine years old and tries her best at everything that she does and as a mum I don't think I can ask for more.

Well that's it from me have a wonderful evening. Take care xx

Monday 18 April 2016

Menu Plan Monday

Good Evening, I hope you have had a nice start to the week.

I finished work at lunchtime today, I came home and vacuumed the whole house, cleaned the kitchen and bathroom and put the dishwasher and washing machine on.

I then returned to the school to pick the children up and we all returned home.

In our garage we have a large fridge freezer, I don't use the fridge part very often but as I have noticed recently that we run out of drinks and milk quite often and I go back to the shops and never just buy drinks I thought I would clean out the fridge ready for next weeks shop.

It really wasn't very clean but now it is sparkly clean and I can start hiding things in there from the children (they wont know about it so things may last). And less time spent shopping too. (win win!)

Monday - Vol-au-vents, jacket potatoes and salad

Tuesday - Lasagne and Garlic bread

Wednesday - Spanish Omelette and salad

Thursday - Lamb chops, new potatoes and veg

Friday - Chicken burgers and chips

Saturday - Tagliatelle Carbonara

Sunday - Beef, Roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and veg.

I found this weeks menu quite difficult to do and kept changing my mind. I think its because I really fancy a roast dinner so much.

Well that's about it from me for one night. Have a nice evening. Take care xx

Preparation Sunday

Happy Sunday my dear friends. I hope you have had a lovely day.

My eight year old and I went over to my mum and dads this morning, we had a couple of items that I had picked up from Aldi for them. It was lovely to see them and I am so glad I went s my mum had some pots in her garden that she really wanted moved and my darling dad is no longer allowed or able to lift anything heavy but will get worried and upset if they are not moved.

I managed to move them but one of them was very heavy and my son laughed at me because he said I was waddling as I was carrying it. Once my mum saw me carrying it she found it hilarious too, I must have looked a sight.

We had a lovely couple of hours chatting and laughing whilst drinking coffee.

Once I arrived home I started to get prepared for tomorrow and being back at school. I had already washed all the school uniform and it was drying on the line, I then ironed everything and hung it on the children's hooks.

We then went to the park for a while until my youngest son fell into the muddies puddle ever and panicked about being so dirty. Bless him

I then cleaned the children's shoes. Made the lunches and snacks. Got the children bathed and homework completed. Then stories were read and the children put to bed.

Chores completed today were:-
  • Floors vacuumed downstairs
  • Floors mopped
  • Toilet cleaned
  • Beds made
Here is the photo I promised you yesterday of my new home for my Disney magnet.

Now I can wake up every morning to my favourite people and be reminded of our favourite place.

I hope you all have a nice evening. Take care xx

Cancelling things I dont need!

Good Evening. I hope you have had a nice day today. I guess the word for my day would be productive.

I woke up this morning still feeling cold and fed up but I came downstairs had a coffee and sat quietly looking through the Ikea catalogue. I then came into the lounge with my calendar and a pen and looked at my bills and systematically wrote down when they come out next month and how much comes out. I then deleted some small direct debits for things I really don't need.
Then I got out my most recent Sky bill and realised there is a lot we pay for that I really don't want to watch so I discussed with my family about getting rid of the things we don't want anymore. I think this will save us about £40 a month (yippee). I have to be honest if I had my way I would get rid of the whole lot as there is only one program that I enjoy watching every week and would be upset to miss and I'm sure at some point this will come on Netflix.

This afternoon completely under duress I got everything out of my two youngest boys bedroom and spent the whole afternoon sorting, getting rid of things and putting things back neatly.
I went to the local charity shop once with things and then Ben went to the charity shop again with more items.

I also fully cleaned my bedside cabinet  found a great place for my Disney fridge magnet that my eldest son got me for my birthday. I will show you a picture tomorrow as I can't find my phone charger at the minute to link it to my computer.

This evening Ben decided he wanted a kebab for dinner so my youngest son and I headed off to the kebab shop and just as we were driving down the road my nose started to bleed. I quickly returned home and sat with a cold flannel on my nose until it stopped. This is about the fifth nose bleed I have had Ina couple of weeks so I guess I need to make a doctors appointment. I think its probably stress related and could well be high blood pressure but I hope not as I have always had low blood pressure, even when I was pregnant.

The kebab did finally get purchased as did McDonald's for my little ones. I decided to have a jacket potato and salad but the potato was still a bit hard and not very enjoyable so I ended up chucking half of it away.

I read stories to my little ones which was thoroughly enjoyable, my daughter is currently reading Alice in Wonderland and it was lovely to read about the confused Alice not quite understanding why everything was so strange on this day and had she in fact turned into someone else and then read about her getting small and swimming in her own salty tears. I finished the chapter with both myself and my daughter smiling. I love Alice! If I ever get to Disney again I would love to go to the mad hatters tea party with my little angels.

It was then bubble bath time and I used a passion fruit face mask that made my skin feel super smooth and I would definitely recommend and buy again.

Have a wonderful end to the weekend and take care xx

Friday 15 April 2016

Today has been bleugh!

Good evening. I'm going to put this out there now I'm in a bad mood! I don't like blogging when I'm in a bad mood but hey I didn't blog yesterday so here I am mood and all.

I worked all day today which was ok, not the best day but still ok and then we walked home now as most of you who are regular readers know we walk about 3-4 miles to get home. Well today it rained but not just a small amount of rain it poured. We were soaking so much so that my coat that I put on the back of one of our chairs keeps leaving a pool of water on the floor and as fast as I clean it, it comes back again.

The children were so wet and cold that I had to run them a hot bath and make them a hot drink to try and warm them up. I put the heating on and put their pyjamas on the radiators so that when they got out of the bath they would have nice warm clothes to put on.

Even though I know I did my best to make them feel better I still feel like a bad mum, when I saw all the other children being picked up from school and mine looked at me and said "do we have to walk home in this mum?"
And we walked through the door and they are shivering I just feel awful and wish I had a little old car so that they wouldn't have to walk home in the  rain and they wouldn't have to sit and wait for an hour because their sister has an after school club. It hurts that I feel I am failing the people who make my life worth getting up for every morning.

I also still feel cold and unwell because the rain and cold went through to my bones.

Well I'm sorry for the moaning and whining.

This evening I popped to the shops to get some hot dogs for tea as that's what everyone fancied, I also got 2 packs of mini croissants (6 in each) reduced to 38p for breakfast over the weekend, and a trifle reduced to 58p for dessert.

The house has remained tidy all week and the children have commented several times how much easier the mornings are now that they put everything in its home the night before. Life really is easier when everything has its set place.

Its a quick post tonight as I need to head back out in a minute to pick my eldest son up from work.

I hope your day has been nice and relaxed. Take care xx

Wednesday 13 April 2016

Whar a bargain shop

Hello, I hope you have had a nice day. I have been at work all day today, we are making Anglo -Saxon houses and I have spent most of the day helping young ladies and gentleman glue gun their houses together.  I must say they all did a brilliant job and they tidied up after themselves.

When we arrived home I put inner on straight away, we had Spaghetti Carbonara and apart from one young man the whole house had this. (my eight year old had ham and onion omelette) The Carbonara was such a quick cheap meal that I think we will have to have this more often especially as several children asked for seconds. Big yay for easy meals.

After dinner I popped to the shops with my eldest son - check this out!

I got :-
  •  Four loaves of bread for 6p each which have gone in the freezer
  • Eight lamb chops for £2.00 Also in the freezer for lamb stew next week
  • Ten slices of Haslet for £1.10 four in tomorrow sandwiches, six in the freezer
  • Garlic bread for 10p, in the freezer to go with spaghetti Bolognese next week
  • Bagels for 25p in the freezer for breakfast for my eight year old
  • Thornton's chocolate cake for £2.02 split into 16 portions and put in the freezer for lunches
Its feels great knowing that I have got offers that includes treats for my favourite people.
Unfortunately they didn't have any fruit offers as I seem to be running quite low on fruit but I should have enough for lunches for the rest of the week. Even better I got a further £5.00 off for a voucher that I had, making this shop super cheap.

Today I only walked four miles.

I have eaten:-

Breakfast - Yoghurt

Lunch - chicken sandwich
              melon and pineapple

Dinner - Spaghetti Carbonara

I hope you have a nice evening. Take care xx

Tuesday 12 April 2016

Ooh lunchtime and i'm here!

Hello, its an early post today, yay!

Oh my goodness I could not sleep last night, what about you? I woke up this morning feeling like a zombie, thankfully due to the benefits of preparing the night before it didn't matter too much.

We were doing woodwork at school today, not one of my talents I have to admit so I was rather grateful when the morning was over.

After the loooonggg walk home I walked in to a relatively clean and tidy house so I have taken photos of the lamps that I got from freecycle and have decided to post nice and early.

This is the lamp that got for my youngest two boys, it suits their room perfectly and enables my eight year old to read the mountain of books that he is intending to work his way through.

This is the one for my eldest two boys room and again suits their rooms they have a brown leather bedside cabinet that matches the base of the lamp.

This is the lamp that I am intending on putting in the play room once get rid of the toy box and replace it with a much needed desk.

This is a spare lamp that I will keep just in case.

Didn't I do well? Its amazing what people no longer want.

Now onto personal things

Breakfast was yoghurt and banana

Lunch was a Ham salad

Dinner is meant to be shepherds pie but I really don't fancy minced,  I fancy something lighter like a salad but they don't go down very well in my house and my daughter has choir and brownies tonight so I will have to think about what to do.

I have currently walked 4 miles but I need to walk back to pick the children up and come home again so we are looking at double that today.

I haven't done any cleaning today and I think I will give myself a day off, the dishwasher is on now and I might sweep after dinner but that'll be about it today as I am too tired.

Well that's it for today have a lovely afternoon and evening, take care xx

Monday 11 April 2016

Wow, I was organised!

Hello dear friends,

How was your day? Mine was pretty good.  For the first time in a long, long while I got up and managed to leave the house on time and with anyone yelling he's taking my trousers off me (yes my eight year old actually does that to his younger brother if he can't find his own trousers!), I can't find my shoes or I've forgotten my lunch. It was delightful we walked the whole way to school without anyone getting atrophy or ratty.

Once I finished work I practically ran home and hoovered the whole house, put some washing on, cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen before I had to go back and pick the children up.

I promised I would show you photos of the lamps I got off freecycle yesterday but I forgot to do this earlier and now the children are asleep. Apologies and I will try to do this tomorrow but the lamps were a big hit and I had happy children.

I was told by a colleague today that I look like I have lost weight, yay I hope so. I thought I would go back to listing how far I have walked and what I have eaten today.

I have walked six and a half miles today, big cheer

I have eaten :-

  • 2 Bananas
  • Egg salad roll
  • Shortbread biscuit
  • 2 crackers
  • Yogurt
  • I slice toast with baked beans and hotdog on top.

Monday - Beans and hotdogs on toast

Tuesday - shepherds pie and green beans and Sweetcorn

Wednesday- Pork chops, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding carrots, green beans and Sweetcorn

Thursday - Pasta Carbinara

Friday - breakfast for dinner

Saturday - Chicken Curry and Rice

Sunday - Leftovers

This evening after dinner I had to pop to the shops and send two items I had sold on Ebay this cost £6.20

I also went to ASDA and bought two t-shirts for my daughter, she needs one for school as she is doing tye dying. A pack of two was £3.00. I bought some groceries at the same time the shop originally cost £26.00 but I got £4.00 off in coupons so it actually cost £22.00 including the T-shirts.

I am going to relax in a nice warm bath now as I have a bit of backache from all the walking.

Have a lovely evening and take care xx

Sunday 10 April 2016

Organising day

Hello dear friends, wow its a late post tonight.

Today, I have been organising, ready for tomorrow. I hate that back to school early rush, in fact I can't stand it so I have:-

  • Set up a new bag system for the youngest three
  • Packed their PE bags including spare socks and spare hairbands (just in case)
  • Packed the lunches, snacks, drinks bottle, water bottles
  • Packed the swimming bags including combs (I'm not keen on the dishevelled look)
  • Made sure all the forms are completed
  • Books are read and reading records are complete
  • Homework is done and packed
  • Hooks have been put on the backs of their bedroom doors and uniform is hung on them
  • Boxes are next to their beds with shoes in them
Yay I think we will have an easy morning.

I have also got four lamps on freecycle, two for the boys rooms and one desk type that I will keep for when we get rid of the toy box and get a homework desk put in the playroom.
I will snap a picture of these tomorrow.

Well that's it from me today as its now very late and I need to get up early in the morning.

Have a great evening.

Take care xx

Friday 8 April 2016

Just a normal Friday!

Hello dear friends, I love the above quote it made me giggle!

I hope you have had a lovely Friday. Mine has been very nice, I spent most of the morning chatting to my eldest two boys then Liam (I can write his name without worrying as he reads my blog and comments with his name) went off to work and I cleaned the house for a bit. This afternoon I sat with my thirteen year old and we chatted lots and then he asked me what I thought he should draw, I replied a frog I don't know why, it was the first thing that came into my mind. So he drew a tree frog, this is just the outline as he hasn't shaded it yet.

We was talking about what options he wanted to take when he returns to school next week, his first four options are Geography, RE, PE and Media studies but he also has to put down three alternatives just in case the timetable can't be arranged for what he has chosen. We discussed Coding or IT, History (although when I went to the options evening I was advised against History because he will struggle with the time limit on the exam, he has to plan before he writes his answers and is very meticulous so his teacher advised if he had an extra hour for the exam he would do really well but in the time they have he wouldn't get the last questions finished, and I suggested Art as I think my son is quite good (I might just say I can't even draw stickman so I'm probably not the best person to advise him) but he said he is no where near good enough to pass the exams. Its such a big decision argh!

Late afternoon, I watched one of the DVDs that Liam got me for mothers day, it was of him when he was born. It was lovely to watch and his sweet little new born cry made me want to pick him up out of the Tele and cuddle him. How time flies.

Today I achieved:-
    • Hovered upstairs and downstairs
    • Cleaned the downstairs toilet
    • Cleaned the upstairs bathroom
    • Cleaned the kitchen
    • One load of washing
    • De-cobwebbed the conservatory (as my mum pointed out several cobwebs to me the other day- thanks mum)
I am trying to eat healthier at the moment so for breakfast I had banana and yoghurt, whilst reading some old Slimming World magazines.

For lunch I had a toasted egg, rocket and cucumber sandwich.

Finally for dinner I had a chicken and egg salad (but I didn't take a photo, oops)

I also drank some coconut and pineapple water as it is full of antioxidants, it has quite an unusual flavour.

I sold two items on Ebay today and I listed another six items.

I will be heading up to have a nice relaxed bath shortly as I have to get up early tomorrow morning, my thirteen year old is going off for the day in preparation for his first Duke of Edinburgh expedition in two weeks time. He has to take a lot of stuff with him, including a camping stove to cook his own food. At least he is learning to survive on his own.

I have just received an email, my daughter entered the BBC2 500 word essay competition, they had over 123,400 entries and they have put 4,500 through to the second round and she has been picked to go through. I am so delighted for her.

Have a lovely evening and take care xx

Thursday 7 April 2016

Busy,Busy,Busy!

Hello, I hope you have had a nice day. I have been busy! See that poor woman above, yes, that is me. Tired-out Tara!

I get up every morning and look at my house and think Oh No, they've been again, those people that arrive in the middle of the night and trash my beautifully clean house, and the slowly the realisation sinks in Oh yes that's my family.

This morning I didn't feel like having breakfast, which if I'm honest is fairly normal for me. So I had a vitamin shake that my mum brought over for me yesterday (in fact she brought over several) as her and my dad have decided I look a little drained at the moment and like I need a pick me up. I settled down at the kitchen table with my shake and a list to wrote down what I need to do today.

The first thing I did was get all my ASDA receipts for the last month and see if I was entitled to any vouchers.

Yippee! I am entitled to lots of coupons £8.80 in total.

I then put the bedding from my bed on to wash and hung it on the line to dry. I have to say it certainly has been full of April showers so far this month and I must have retrieved the washing off the line four times and then put it back out when the sun came out again. I am persistent.

Can you see the rain clouds lurking in thaw distance?

I then went back upstairs as I have an area in the corner of my bedroom that has a basket and everyone dumps their STUFF. So I decided to get rid of the STUFF!

See, how irritating is that...
It took me quite a while and this is what I ended up with:-

This box to be taken to the charity shop when I have the car.

And, some of my daughters clothes that are in too good condition to be thrown away so I will put these on EBay.

I then returned downstairs because it was nearly lunch time and I could hear murmerings of "I'm hungry" every few minutes. But before they had their lunch they had to wait until I had cleaned out the fridge.

After lunch I :-

  • Hoovered downstairs
  • Dusted downstairs
  • Cleaned the toilet
And did this pile of ironing and put it away.

Can you see why I'm tired yet?

It was then time to cook the dinner, I had a tasty brie and rocket salad followed by fruit salad. The others in the house had either jacket potatoes or pasta.

This evening my thirteen year old is at cadets and I need to pick him up but I need to pop to Aldi first as my mum has seen a bedspread and bath mat that she likes in their magazine so I will pick them up for her together with some croissants for my little eight year old.

As most of you will know my Darling eldest son is going to America for three weeks in May, well one of the men that he goes to football with has booked him into the Hilton for his last four nights in New York. How kind is  that! What a lucky young man. And yes I am still jealous. I want to go with him but he has promised to Skype me lots.

That's it from me for tonight, have a lovely evening and take care xxx
