Sunny Sunday ha ha who am i kidding!

Hello dear friends,

It has been a busy day. I woke this morning knowing that I had quite a busy day ahead of me.

My son left for his Duke of Edinburgh exhibition yesterday morning and I went to pick him and his friend up at lunchtime but I stopped in on my mum and dad as they live on the way to where I had to collect the boys.

My mum had a floor steamer for me that she had been given by a friend moving into a residential home and my dad had been to a farm shop and got me two dozen apples. It was lovely to have a chat and a coffee with them.

I then went to pick up the boys who had walked 16K and slept in the woods. They were so tired and achy that they fell straight to sleep on the journey home.

When I woke this morning there was a glimmer of sun and as I knew I would have a lot of washing to do I was hoping it would continue to shine, however as expected it began to rain. It really wasn't a surprise we have had no sun for weeks.

I arrived home to hungry children and spent the afternoon:-

  • Making lunch
  • Washing very dirty washing
  • Shopping for lunch stuff
  • Making Spaghetti Carbonara
  • Packing lunches for tomorrow
  • Hovering
  • Steaming the floor with my new to me steamer
  • Bathing the children
  • Reading the children stories
My brother and his wife have gone to the Maldives today, they have one of the huts pictured above, and whilst I'm sure they will have a fabulous time I'm not sure it would be a holiday for me as I struggle to sit still for any length of time and I'm sure I would enjoy day one and maybe even day two by day three I would be starting to get a bit antsy.
I hope they have an amazing time and get to relax and enjoy each others company as they both work very hard.

Have a lovely evening and take care xx

  1. I have to admit, I would love to have one of those cabins. Give me some snacks, a drink and a pile of books and leave me there. Sigh.

I'm glad you had some sun on your day "off" and that your son survived his Duke of Edinburgh march!

    1. I think I might be ok if I had a pile of books to work my way through but I do get bored very easily and I don't have a particularly long attention span which is why I struggle with films unless they are very action packed.

He just about survived I have never seen him so worn out bless him. Xx
