Menu plan monday and more

Monday - Chilli and Rice with homemade guacamole

Tuesday - Spanish Omelette

Wednesday -  Gammon, New potatoes and salad

Thursday - Spaghetti Bolognese with Parmesan and Garlic bread

Friday -  Jacket Potatoes with Cheese and Beans

Saturday - Homemade Blue Cheese Burgers (idea borrowed from Nathalie) With cheesy Nachos

Sunday - Breakfast for dinner

I woke up quite early this morning so this is what I achieved today :-

  • Cleaned the kitchen
  • Hovered downstairs
  • Put some washing on
  • Made Chilli in the slow cooker
  • Cleaned out the cupboard under the stairs - huge job
  • Walked to the shops to get milk
  • Went to the doctors to hand in a  repeat prescription
  • Put two items on eBay
  • Went to the chemist to pick up prescription
When I was cleaning out the cupboard under the stairs I found two backpacks for my two little men to use for school as they are complaining that their bags bang their legs as we are walking along.

I also found swimming hats that I had obviously bought at the end of last year because I thought the children's swimming hats were broken and I would need to replace them as swimming starts again when we go back to school. Kerching, savings, yay!

My cupboard looks much better now but I really need to find a solution to keeping the shoes tidy.

Well, have a lovely evening and take care xx

  1. Goodness, you did a lot! I bet you're feeling great after having cleaned out your closet and hooray for finding the backpacks that you thought might be there and the swimming hats too!

Most prescriptions here nowadays are transmitted electronically from the doctor's office to the pharmacy, I suppose to thwart fraud/theft. I liked it better when I had a paper though.

    1. I did, didn't I. Ha ha I am so pleased. I'm really thrilled that I found the back packs and swimming hats, oh and I found my daughter some flip flops that I got at the end of last year and forgot about.
You can do our prescriptions electronically but the paperwork you have to fill in for it is quite epic so there is no chance of that getting done.;)

  2. Mmmm-mmm. Dinner sounds delicious. To tell the truth, I'd never heard of gammon before, so I had to google it......cured pork that needs to be cooked. Sounds good. I am thinking that it might be like a cottage roll?? (If you know what that is)

Love to hear that you cleaned and organized a closet. You managed a lot of "regular" housework as well, but there is always a real sense of accomplishment when you have purged a problem area and come up with a superior solution. And you found solutions for other problems without having to spend money. (eg. backpacks and swimming caps)

    1. Hey Susan, I hope you are well. I haven't heard of cottage roll, I will have to look it up. I bet it is quite similar.

I must admit I do like having a good clean out. The only problem is my bin is now full up and the bin men don't come until Friday. Ha ha

I have several areas in my house that need a good purge. I have a toy box in my play room that now the children are getting older I'm sure I could reduce down quite a lot and I'd like to put a desk in there instead.

The cupboard looks much better. Yay.
