Swimming in the hail, ooh that could be a new song

Ok guys I do understand that I am becoming a weather bore, but seriously people we are four days away from being in May and today we had a mixture of rain, snow and hail. In fact the lovely sweet children in my class had swimming today! Don't get me wrong they found it hilarious that it was hailing whilst they swam but not really expected. I realise Global Warming is effecting our weather patterns but where the heck is the warming part of it...

My thirteen year old has exams at the moment and after being asked how he got on in his maths exam today he pulled a face and said "Mum, What is a box graph". I had never heard of it and had to look it up, the boy is year 9 and I helped Liam with his maths GCSE revision and never came up with this graph. I am a touch concerned that I will have to go over the complete GCSE syllabus before I can help my thirteen year old revise.

Have you ever seen one of these before?

Today, I went to Aldi to do a small shop to last us the week but £65.00 and three huge bags of shopping later I left the shop. Am I a spend thrift?
I am hoping that this shop will also last part of the way through next week too as I have gone over budget by £25.00 arghhh!
I did buy:-
  • 12 chicken breasts, 24 Sausages, 1kg of Minced beef, Fresh Chicken Nuggets,  Minted lamb kebabs.
  • 8 Jacket potatoes, lettuce, cucumber, mini plum tomatoes, large tomatoes, beetroot
  • Pineapple, 2 packs of strawberries, 2 packs grapes, 2 plums
  • Lots of cheese, Bavarian cheese, brie, cheddar, cottage cheese with pineapple, cream cheese, cranberry Gloucestershire cheese
  • Sandwich chicken and a couple of lunch pies for ben
  • Three different types of crackers
  • 24 Egg waffles, 24 croissants, 6 muffins
  • 2x curry sauces, 2 x tomato sauces, peanut butter and lemon curd and tinned tomatoes
  • Fruit and nut snack bags, fruit wonders (snacks for school)
  • Milk
  • Cloths for washing up
I guess I got a fair amount for the money.

Well, its been lovely talking to you but I need to go and pick Liam up from work so have a lovely evening and take care xx

  1. I can't believe it's still snowing! But again, April was always cold in France too. Hail storms, lots of rainstorms too. April showers, as they say. We haven't had showers here though, it's been pretty dry, but at least the humidity levels outdoors are nice for now.

You got tons of stuff at Aldi! Do you get to drive the car? I hope you didn't carry all that by hand all the way from the store?

That math graph is the stuff of my nightmares. What the heck? Why couldn't they just present the information in a way that makes sense? Ugh. I think this is how they're killing the love of learning in our kids. They certainly aren't enticing me to want to learn more. You're a good mom to want to learn so you can help your son practice for his exams! Mine know that YouTube is probably their best friend when it comes to math explanations, although I have to say that their schools also provide them with several online sites where they can practice and get more in-depth explanations. I'm glad I'm not a teen, these days.

Have a great day! I hope your weather improves!

    1. Oh Nathalie tell me about it, its normally fairly warm by now where I live, because we are in the south but not this year. I thought France was normally starting to get warm by now. Your weather looks beautiful from the photo's of your garden.

Yes I took the car, I can use it in the evenings and if Bens not at work. I couldn't have carried that lot back. I shopped whilst my daughter was at Brownies because Aldi is very close and it worked out well.

I totally agree, I haven't seen one of those graphs before. I'm not sure its such a good mum thing or because I'm a bit of a control freak Nathalie. I like to know that they know the right thing. Does that sound weird?

I'm glad I'm not a teen either. Thanks you too xxx

    2. No, I don't think it sounds weird at all. I think your kids are very lucky to have a mom who is interested in their school work and helps them study.
